How to Perfectly Create A Photoboard Grid with Painters Tape and Sweet Pix

You’ve received your photoboards and have decided that you want to decorate them in a 3x3x3 grid! Don’t worry one bit because it’s easier than it seems and with a little planning and painters tape you can get them perfectly aligned on any wall. In this tutorial we use blue painters tape to stick a perfectly straight tape line on your wall. Then, simply align your photoboards along the blue tape line for a perfectly straight and level photo grid. Let’s get started!

Decorate with photo tile grid on any wall without any damage.

Depending on the width of tape you choose will allow you to make your photoboards closer together or farther apart. We used the Original 2 inch for this example but you can use 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch for some different spacing layouts.

After you have found the wall you would like to decorate we recommend lightly wiping the wall with a clean white towel or cloth to remove any dust particles that could prevent the sticky pads from getting good adhesion.

Step 1

Place the center photoboard on the wall in the desired location. Then place one strip of tape above the photoboard (roughly the width of three photoboards around 24 inches) and one strip of tape below.

Step 2

Place one vertical strip of tape (same length as before) vertical next to your center photoboard.

Step 3

Place an additional piece of tape to the right side of the center photoboard. Your tape should now reseble a tic-tac-toe game!

Now the fun part! Place your photoboards in the desired location of your grid.

Step 5

Grab the corner of the vertical pieces of tape (the last strip you put down) and gently remove the tape so not to disturb the photoboards.

Step 6

Now that the vertical pieces have been removed, you can now remove the horizontal pieces of tape, gently of course.
